Active approach

After determining the target profile criteria, we search for companies that meet the requirements. Besides presenting the profile throughout our network, we actively approach companies to assess their interest in buying or selling. This approach usually brings about the desired results rapidly, which means that buyers and sellers can choose from more than one potential acquisition or purchaser.

During our 15 years of M&A work in the SME segment, Marktlink has assisted well over 500 companies. The key to success in each of these transactions was experience and trust; due to our extensive and wide-ranging experience, we are able to create the trust that is vital when selling or acquiring a business.

Complete process

Transactions can sometimes fail due to unrealistic expectations and poor process management. When Marktlink assists in a transaction, we take control throughout the entire process and only require you to make decisions at predetermined times. Marktlink takes care of the details of the transaction and supplies the necessary information. All activities are performed under the meticulous supervision and control of Marktlink’s experts.

Fixed-fee structure

Marktlink calculates its prices based on a fixed-fee structure, with the total amount broken down into several instalments. Because we do not calculate our fees by the hour or on a ‘no cure, no pay’ basis, we share the same goals as our client: to achieve the best possible results within a reasonable timeframe. Even though a large part of our work takes place at the beginning of the process, a considerable portion of the total fee is scheduled around, and dependent upon, the completion of the transaction, meaning that Marktlink shares in your risks. Whether we have to approach 5 or 50 companies before we achieve results, our compensation remains the same.

Financing expertise

Financing is an essential part of any transaction. Marktlink places dozens of financing requests with different banks every year, and has built up an impressive network of Dutch banks that we consult in the early stages of the transaction process. Our independence allows us to arrange the best possible financing terms, regardless of the bank finally selected. In addition to bank financing, we often suggest that our clients make use of subordinated debt, cumulative preferred stock or private equity. Our financing experts will provide invaluable independent advice on all these areas.
